Putting off a visit?

Many people do. Here is what we hear most, and how we try to make the first visit easier.

  • It has been a while and you aren't sure where to start

  • A past visit left you tense

  • You worry about what a treatment plan will cost

  • You want a dentist who explains before starting

  • You'd like one practice for the whole family

What we offer

Dental care for the whole household

From routine exams to rebuilding a tooth, every visit starts with an exam, your options in plain words and a written plan.

  • A treatment room with a dark dental chair, a desk with a computer and a wall clock

    Preventive Care

Exams, professional cleanings and the X-rays your dentist decides you need, so small problems are found early.

  • A black-and-white dental chair and stool by a window

    Cosmetic Dentistry

Whitening, bonding and porcelain veneers, planned with you from the way your teeth look today.

  • A dentist positions a man in a lead apron in a 3D dental X-ray machine

    Restorative Care

Fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures, root canal treatment and dental implants, all provided by a general dentist.

  • A gloved finger points at 3D dental scans on a tablet

    Clear Aligners & Braces

Straightening for teens and adults, planned by your dentist. If your case calls for an orthodontist, we refer you to one.

  • A dark dental chair and instrument unit in a room with a large wall clock

    Emergency Visits

Call us first. We keep room in the day for urgent problems when we can, and we tell you plainly if we can't see you the same day.

  • A dentist in grey scrubs sits holding a dental model as she talks with a patient

    Family Visits

Children and adults can book back to back. We see children from their first tooth and explain each step in words they follow.

“Every visit starts the same way: we look, we explain, and you decide what happens next. The rest of the practice is built around that.”

How we work

Careful work, plainly explained

We treat dentistry as a trade: done carefully, explained in plain words and checked before you leave.

  • A black-and-white dental chair and stool in a white room with blinds

    Careful work

Every filling and crown is checked against your bite before you leave the chair.

  • A dental micromotor control unit with a digital display and a handpiece on a white counter

    Current methods

We keep up with training and with the research behind a recommendation, and we say so when the evidence is thin.

  • A dental assistant in blue gloves shows a smiling woman something on a tablet

    Plain answers on cost

You get your options and a written estimate before treatment begins, and we check your plan's benefits with you.

Your first visit

How a first visit goes

Four steps, and you can ask us to stop at any of them.

  1. A dentist in grey scrubs holds a dental model of teeth to show a patient
    01

    Request a visit

Use the form or call us. Tell us a good day and how you'd like us to reply.

  2. A dentist and patient sit at a desk looking at a photo of teeth on a monitor
    02

    Exam and X-rays

Your dentist examines your teeth and gums, takes X-rays if they decide you need them, and tells you what they found.

  3. A dentist points to an X-ray on a monitor beside a patient in the chair while a colleague watches
    03

    Your plan in writing

You get your options, the visits each one would take and a written estimate. Nothing starts until you say so.

  4. A masked dentist shakes hands with a bearded man in a treatment room
    04

    Treatment at your pace

We explain each step before it starts, and you can ask for a break at any time.

Common questions

What people ask before a first visit. Can't find your answer? Give us a call.

01What should I expect at my first visit?

About an hour: an exam, X-rays if your dentist decides you need them, and a talk about what they found. You leave with your options and a written estimate. Bring your insurance card, a photo ID and a list of your medicines.

02Do you offer sedation for nervous patients?

Yes. Nitrous oxide is available at any visit: you breathe it through a small mask, stay awake and can ask to stop at any point. For other kinds of sedation, we tell you who gives it, how you are monitored and what to expect before you decide.

03How often should I come in for checkups?

Most people come twice a year. Your dentist decides how often you need an exam, a cleaning and X-rays, and tells you why.

04Do you take my insurance?

It depends on your plan. We bill most PPO dental plans and file the claim for you, and the front desk checks your benefits before your first visit. How fees work shows how each type of plan is handled.

05What if I have a dental emergency?

Call us first. We keep room in the day for urgent problems when we can, and we tell you plainly if we can't see you the same day. If a tooth is knocked out or broken, call right away. For trouble breathing or swallowing, swelling that spreads to your face, eye or neck, or bleeding that won't stop, go to an emergency room or call 911.

06Can I get a written estimate before treatment?

Yes. After your exam your dentist lists the treatment, the visits it takes and what it will cost, in writing. Ask at scheduling or at your visit.
